People like the Agamudayars can be saved because, as Jesus said, all things are possible with God. Why is this possible? It seems unlikely that proud, wealthy communities like the Agamudayars will lack the humility it takes to fear the Lord. That is true. Yet, don’t underestimate what the Holy Spirit can do in drawing people from every tribe, tongue and nation!
Pray for the Agamudayar people to have the humility to seek the Lord with fear and reverence.
Can the very rich Agamudayar warriors of Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka be saved? Jesus said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” And those who heard it said, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus replied: “The things which are impossible for men are possible for God.” (Luke 18:24-27 NKJV.)
The Agamudayars are an extremely wealthy warrior/land-holding class. They acquired vast tracts of land as rewards for winning military victories for the king. On April 29, 1789, they swept the British from Kollangudi. Legends said that these warriors could kill tigers with no weapons. They are now employed as bodyguards.
The Agamudayar people are an important community in India as well as in Sri Lanka. They have several matrimonial sites on the Internet where families can find brides and grooms for their children. It’s interesting that they are more concerned about finding someone from their community than finding someone who speaks the same language. It would be OK to marry someone whose language is Tamil, Kannada, Assamese, or whatever, so long as they belong to the Agamudayar community.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that these mighty wealthy warriors will pledge themselves to Jesus the true King of Kings.
