Jesus promised that His Church would assault the gates of hell and that those gates would fall. His Church is actively marching forward to conquer rebel territory and bring it into submission to the king of kings. Our battle is not physical—between men, but spiritual—within men’s hearts and minds. And we are assured of victory because our champion, Jesus Christ, has defeated Satan in individual combat. Truly, the One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world.
Acknowledge Christ Jesus as the victor over sin and Satan. Pray that He will establish His Church in every remaining unreached people.
Lahul balanced on the highest rock of her mountain. Her grandfather taught her that on one side of this rock was China and on the other side was India. It was fun to hop back and forth across the imaginary line. Lahul has only seen a few people who were not from her village as her people live in such a remote place that the Chinese built a road here two years before the Indian government realized it.
There is a constant struggle over these soaring mountains of the western Himalayans. Both China and India claim the land and there have been many border skirmishes with China taking broad swaths of land as their own. As the border blurs over time so does the culture of the 6,000 people known as the Gahri people. These Buddhists are now incorporating Hinduism into their belief system. Lahul and her family also practice the ancient ceremonies called Loong Pai Chos which involves pacifying and placating spirits and demons.
The good news is that there are a small number who follow Christ among the Gahri. In 1911 Bible portions were translated into their language. They are currently out of print. Distance and difficult terrain has also made contact between the Christians nearly non-existent.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that God will call someone to reprint the Scriptures and take them to the Gahri people so that they can learn more about the Lord.
