This verse points out one of the many tragedies that come from abortions. Those who are aborted will never have the chance to make a difference. Jeremiah was created to be a prophet. Though the Khampa Tibetans are not following the Lord, we can only imagine what He could have done with each of their children if they had not been aborted.
Pray for God to intervene on behalf of the Khampa Tibetans who are being abused by their government. Pray for the Khampas to find God’s purpose for their lives.
About 244,000 Western Khampa live in the rough terrain of Chinese-occupied Tibet. They suffer from many health problems including tuberculosis and a high mortality rate among their children and mothers. Some medical groups are helping them.
Unfortunately, they are also getting some “health care” that they do not want. The International League for Human rights said, “Reports indicate that Tibetan women suffer forced sterilizations and late-term abortions at the hands of state healthcare workers.” According to the Tibet Information Network (TIN), “a considerable element of coercion is applied to women, particularly in rural areas, through the mechanisms of fines and administrative structures introduced by these officials.” For example, a 61-year-old Tibetan reported that poor women from his village, regardless of the size of their families, were summoned by Chinese authorities to undergo birth control measures. If they refused, the authorities fined them 1000 yuan, approximately two-thirds of the per capital net annual income for the farmers and herders who comprise 85 percent of the Tibetan Autonomous Region’s Tibetan population.” http://www.ilhr.org/ilhr/regional/tibet/womenrights.html
One of the Tibetan subgroups that is experiencing these atrocities is the Khampa Tibetans. They practice a combination of Tibetan Buddhism and the spirit rituals of bon worship and shamanism.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that God will send His gospel to the Khampa so they can be freed from their difficult and oppressive life. Pray for Christ to speed the day when the Khampas and other nations will experience true justice.
