The children of Israel had laws like this set by the God who looked over them. God even took care of his people in the case of a miscarriage. In the case of the Tibetan peoples, there is a hostile government that forces their women to have abortions.
Pray for the God of compassion to come to the aid of the suffering Amdo Tibetans.

“Abortion is coming to Tibet not just because of a lack of contraceptive technology, but also because the authorities openly prefer the ‘combined method,’ a policy that deploys contraceptives or abortion to limit births.” This is the conclusion of a Tibetan human rights group in their publication, “Tibet Online.” www.tibet.org/Activism/Rights/birthcontrol.html
That same article quoted Buddhist monks in Amdo as saying that in the late 1980s, there was a “birth control tent” next to their monastery where Amdo Tibetan women were forcibly operated on to keep them from having children.
There is a lot of friction between all of the Tibetan subgroups and the Han Chinese who control their homeland. Isolated from the outside world, there are about 670,000 Hbroga speaking Tibetans in the Amdo region of China. They survive primarily by herding yak and farming. Women and children do the hard work while the men enjoy much leisure time. A few Hbroga children receive some education in Chinese schools. Hbroga speakers are Tibetan Buddhists, but many practice Bon which involves shamans and spirit worship. Very few have ever heard the teachings of Jesus and His sacrifice for them.

Pray also that the JESUS Film (now translated into Amdo) will be used by the Lord to release them from their spiritual bondage. Pray that the Dali Lama will come to know the Living God and lead Tibetans to true spiritual freedom in Christ.
