God left nothing that is not subject to Him (Jesus). That is the goal, the way things will be, both in our own lives and in the whole world. Yet at present, we do not see everything subject to Him. Today we read about the Daur people who think that things are subject to various shamans. Our task, then, is to move from the present situation to the goal of extending His Kingdom. Our work is to proclaim the message of Christ so that some from every nation are persuaded to become His disciples and responsible members of His Church. In this way many who are not yet subject to Him will voluntarily bow the knee before the day He returns to reign uncontested.
Pray that King Jesus will soon reign over the Daur people in power and glory.
“Quickly, Chang, run for the witchdoctor! Grandfather is sick.” So goes the call, day and night throughout most of the 180,000 Daur people. Each family follows their own shaman for any and all needs. Childbirth? Call the shaman. Family argument? Call the shaman. About one-third of this people group follow Buddhism and seek many gods that cannot help them.
But something new is happening. The JESUS Film has now been translated into the Daur language and is being shown to the Daur people. Over a thousand people have recently come to salvation in Christ, but they are being persecuted and need the prayers of the rest of the family of God.
The Daur people are not limited in the number of children they may have, but they are forbidden to have more than one in a three year time period. The smaller tribes and agricultural peoples like the Daurs have more lenient population controls in China than the majority Han Chinese.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that the powers and principalities over the Daur people might be cast down and destroyed by the mighty resurrection power of the blood of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Pray that there might be many opportunities to show the JESUS Film and that there will soon be a great outpouring of the Spirit so that many would be saved. Pray for God to use workers and new Daur believers who face persecution for His glory.
