This is one of the Bible’s most quoted verses, yet one of the hardest ones to live up to. We delight ourselves in the Lord. We want Him to give us the desires of our hearts. But we often forget that unless we delight ourselves in Him enough to want what He wants, we will settle for the self-centered desires of our hearts. One of the desires of His heart is to see the nations streaming to His kingdom. Is that the desire of your heart?
Pray that the Holy Spirit will prompt us to desire what He wants for the nations.
The Dhund people of northern Pakistan have had portions of God’s Word since 1929 and an entire New Testament since 1991. But in light of the fact this Muslim people (100 percent according to the Joshua Project) has had the Koran in one of their languages since AD 882, it would be safe to say that the Bible is not being taught or taken seriously. Muslims like the Dhund people accept the Koran as being far more accurate than the Bible.
The Dhund people have a rich and royal history, filled with cultural reformers, rulers, feudal chiefs, and religious leaders. They are also known for their teachers and quality education. These people seem to have every cultural institution in place that would enable the spread of the gospel message except one: a missionary, burning with a purpose and a passion for the Savior of the Dhund people. They remain entrenched in teachings that Jesus was only a prophet, and the way to Allah is through obedience to the Koran.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that God sends, and the Dhund peoples receive, one whose feet brings good news (Rom. 10:15) into their midst. Pray that His Word will find its way into every Dhund community, school and mosque. Pray for radio broadcasts and the JESUS Film to find their way into Dhund communities.-MB
