The Tower of Babel project can best be described as man’s attempt to glorify himself. Instead of filling the earth as commanded and bringing glory to God, we sought to defy His will and build a legacy of our own. Since God scattered the nations, our sin nature has turned in such a way that we fight one another. This “us” vs. “them” mindset has caused some groups in India to reserve the best fishing places for themselves, and force weaker groups like the Tiars to settle for less.
Pray for God to redeem some from the Tiar people to rise above this mindset as a testimony to their neighbors.
Thaman’s dark brown eyes suddenly became sharp and alert. He just noticed two fishing boats taking his assigned spot. His sons quickly retrieved the bamboo fishing traps, they manned the heavy oars, and soon guided the boat alongside the two flimsy crafts pulling net-loads of fish from the lake. “Hey, this spot is assigned to us! You have no legal right to fish here!” The offenders gunned their sputtering engines and sped away with Thaman’s catch for the day. Thaman’s shoulders slumped, and he smiled weakly at his sons. “Perhaps they have left us a few fish. Come, let’s try again.” With this he, began to let down his bamboo fish trap.

Pray for the Tiars, people of fishing and agriculture, who struggle for their livelihood against those who also struggle for theirs. Although the JESUS Film exists in Bengali, a language they speak, there are few if any followers of Christ among them. Pray for the Lord of the Harvest to send fishers of men to the 450,000 Tiars. Pray that multitudes of Tiars will be present at the marriage supper of the Lamb.-PE
