Rev. 1:4b
"Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come."

Only God has been around since the very beginning. His presence is worth far more than all the gold in every Hindu temple in Varanasi and Allahabad. If only Hindu peoples knew of His value! Who will tell them? Will you pray that the spiritual climate near the Ganges River will change in such a way that Hindus will be open to the presence of Christ?

Pray that this month the Manjhis/Kewats and other Hindu peoples will embrace God’s eternal perspective, and seek His presence for eternity.

Work Among the Manjhi/Kewat People

Recently in Bihar, India, I met three Manjhi/Kewat believers. Thirty-eight-year-old Dinesh spoke first. “How did you come to faith?” I asked. He replied, “I found a Hindi Bible which I was able to read. (There is no written form of his tribal language.) I read that Bible and the Holy Spirit told me this is the way. So I put my faith in Jesus.” I then asked, “What happened next?” He said, “It was like a bomb went off in our community. I started telling everyone. Now I pastor a church of 50 to 60.”

Pohit, age 30, spoke next. “I accepted Christ when Dinesh witnessed to me. At first I mocked him. Then I started having back problems. I took medicine for the pain, but it would come and go. Finally I let Dinesh pray for me and now I have no back pain. Then I accepted Christ. Now I pastor a small church. We were growing until recent opposition came up.”

Natho, age 35 also came to Christ when Dinesh witnessed to him. He is a lay leader in Dinesh’s church and leads house churches.

Praise God for this beginning of faith in the Manjhi/Kewat community! Pray that God will open doors for these three church leaders and use them to bring about a people movement to Christ among the Manjhi/Kewat people. Pray that they will have boldness and protection in the face of opposition.-EF
