Paul was in Corinth preaching in the synagogue and “solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.” They resisted him and blasphemed. He was then free to go to the Gentiles with a clear conscience. Paul’s example holds lessons for us. He was intent on focusing on those who were responsive to the good news. His obligation to the Jews did not blind him to their resistance. His cry, and the cry of many today is, “How can I stay among a people who have every chance to hear the gospel, yet reject it, when so many have not yet had one chance to hear?”
Pray that the Holy Spirit will teach us our duty to both the resistant and the responsive peoples of our day.
“From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17:26-27).
“I feel much more equipped to communicate with people of other cultures,” said Paul after attending a recent course run by Culture-Connect. Paul’s city is about 20 percent Muslim and, like many European cities, it has changed significantly over the past 50 years due to the rapid influx of immigrants and refugees. Today Europe is home to people from all over the world, including those who have had little opportunity to encounter Christ’s love.
The Culture-Connect team humbly encourages and practically equips European churches and Christians to grasp God’s desire for all nations and to reveal Jesus cross-culturally. Through training courses, media and partnerships, Culture-Connect hopes to see believers build relationships across cultural barriers, demonstrating and sharing Christ’s love with those whom He has brought into the cities of Europe. The Culture-Connect team also seeks to reveal Christ to the diverse people in their city.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray God will bless and equip European Christians through Culture-Connect’s courses and relationships, that they might better bless the immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and international students among them. Pray that people of all cultures would encounter Jesus in Europe and decide to follow Him.-Culture-Connect
