Acts 17:30
"In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent."

Repentance is the key to salvation. In this statement, Paul gave the Athenians the gospel in a nutshell. If you do any witnessing, you may be shocked by how many people from the reached West don’t understand that it’s not “being a good person” but repenting from sin that is the key. In most Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim cultures, people believe that salvation rests on having their good deeds outweighing their bad ones. But repentance is an ongoing process. Even the most godly among us sin every day. Do you need to repent from letting the Great Commission slip from your life?

Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead us to repentance whenever we stray from His perfect will.

Internet Evangelism Day

Dale couldn’t believe they were right there on the Internet! He thought that almost all web sites were in English, with some of them in other European languages, or perhaps Korean or Mandarin. But here was a whole cluster of web sites in his own Amdo Tibetan language! Amdoforjesus.com. Yes, there it was. He began to read what was available.

The web site was about a Jewish man named Jesus who lived 2,000 years ago. It said that He paid for all of our sins. What a strange idea! Does this mean we don’t need to fall down, use a prayer wheel, or fast for long periods of time to gain merit? Certainly this Jesus person couldn’t be any more important than the Dalai Lama, could he? The web site led him not only to written materials, but videos, songs, audio messages, and even a satellite radio station. Dale quit looking for information for his forestry project, and spent the next couple of hours “researching” these web sites.

Though this is only a story, it tells what can happen when a Tibetan has the chance to hear of Christ’s glory as he uses the Internet.
