Has God ever rebuked you? We all have had this experience. He warns even the best of His servants, like Peter, the fisherman who had the constant taste of leather in his mouth. God may rebuke us through His Word, or through His servants, but there is a reason for it: He loves us!
Pray that we will accept His corrections as His way of demonstrating love to His children. Pray that we will submit to His rebukes, so that we will be better servants in reaching the nations for the lover of all mankind.
The Ethiopian mother held her baby for her new friends to see. “Her name is Kesi.” “Ah,” said an old woman as she nodded. “‘Born in difficult times.’ It is a fitting name. Come, join us.” And thus the mother became part of the Daasanachs, a semi-nomadic community comprised of fleeing people. Immigrants are welcome, the only requirement is that they abide by Daasanach customs and values.
Kesi’s mother will now worship the god called “Waag,” a distant god from the sky. She will support the men who are in a constant battle for grazing space and water supplies that their livestock stand in while children draw the family’s drinking water. Kesi will be among the 2500 Daasanach people in Kenya who have a glimmer of economic hope in their thirsty, famished and desperate situation.

Pray for lasting fruit to come from SIM International work among the Daasanachs. Pray that as Wycliffe prints Bibles in the Daasanach language, the five percent literacy rate will increase so the Daasanach people can study scriptures in their own language. Pray that in the meantime, audiotapes and broadcasts, and the witness of believers will fill their ears, hearts, and spirits and lead multitudes to repentance and salvation. Pray that the Heavenly Father meets their dire physical needs.-PE
