Today millions of people in thousands of unreached people groups continue to be “led away” to death by the evil one. How will we respond? Will we pretend ignorance when we meet Jesus face-to-face? Or, recognizing that He knows our hearts and guards our lives from destruction, will we seek to rescue unreached peoples from a Christless eternity?
Pray that we will remember that we must all appear before His judgment seat. Commit yourself again today to “holding back” the unreached peoples by your prayers, your funds and the missionaries you send.
What do you do when HOPE is all you have? HOPE for AIDS ministries of SIM Int’l. brings hope to millions around the world infected and affected by the AIDS pandemic. The four components of HOPE are Home-based care, Orphans and vulnerable children care, Prevention, and Enabling the church.
SIM is partnering with local churches to train the members in HOPE’s four components. SIM and the mission-minded Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church launched the HOPE for AIDS program. One aspect of the program is to prevent AIDS and HIV pregnant mothers from transmitting the HIV virus to their babies. It is a two-fold approach. The mother is given a short course of antiretroviral drugs in conjunction with “replacement feeding,” meaning they feed their babies formula rather than breast milk, so the children don’t get infected. It has been proven to reduce the risk of HIV transmission up to 50 percent.
SIM has partnered with developers of the popular EvangeCube to create an HIV/AIDSCube, a simple tool teaching how HIV is spread and how to care for people living with it. Rick Warren, author of the best-selling, “The Purpose Driven Life” said during a global AIDS summit, “The Cube is an incredible tool. Use it when you take mission teams on the road and when doing ministry in your local area. It’s a great way to teach people.”Learn more at joshuaproject.net
