Ruth 1:1
"In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land, and a man from Bethlehem in Judah...went to live for a while in the country of Moab."

God’s intention was that Israel should be blessed and then be a blessing to the nations. Instead, Israel scorned her Maker, and God’s subsequent affliction of people and land drove many Israelites to seek sustenance from other nations. When God’s people refuse to use the resources God has given them to bless the families of the earth, God may withdraw those blessings from them and bring them by force to face both their own poverty of soul and the needs of the peoples of the earth.

Pray that we will be a blessing to the refugees and immigrants in our lands.

Nadiwali People of India

The ragged-looking parents watched from a distance under the hot sun as their young children stood next to the sacred bull. People walked past them on the dusty trail. “Help us, we are poor,” said the children, holding out cupped hands and giving well-rehearsed pitiful looks. People ignored them and walked away without dropping any coins into their basket.

The Nadiwalis are acrobats. Most work for the circus, moving from town to town with the shows. They raise and train the bulls with which they perform with. One of their most exciting tricks they perform is to jump off the backs of their sacred bulls during shows. When they can’t find work as entertainers the Nadwali people resort to begging.

The Nadiwalis are Hindus. Presently there are no known believers among the Nadiwalis.

Ask God to open the hearts of the Nadiwalis to the gospel, and to Jesus Christ, the One who can meet all of their needs. Pray that God will raise up the right people to reach out to this people group. Pray that God will raise up Holy Spirit led believers to help them find work that will sustain their physical needs, and spiritual food that will satisfy.-WK
