The mandate to fill the earth and subdue it has clear parallels to the Great Commission. As we go forth in His Name, we are reclaiming this vision of seeing worshipers, who worship in spirit and in truth, giving glory to God in every time-zone on this planet, among every nation, tribe and people. The end result is that at any given time on this planet, praises to God are going forth. While in one time zone a session of praise and worship is coming to a close, in another it is just getting started. Built into the solar system itself is all the technology required for an entire generation to pray and worship without ceasing. Truly our God is an awesome God!
Pray that all remaining unreached peoples might reflect back to God the beauty and majesty of all that He is.
Jesus said: “I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. . . ” John 10:16 NIV.
The Gaddi people are shepherds who follow their flocks over a very large area, extending from the rugged hills of Himachal Pradesh in India’s northwest, to Punjab in the plains. They come down from the hills in October before the onset of winter, and return to the high country in April before the plains turn brown and dry.
These people are resourceful. They supplement their herding by growing crops: wheat, maize, and barley; and rotating their crops, and letting their ground go fallow to increase their food supply. Their villages are built on steep slopes with tightly packed two-story houses. Typically they keep cattle on the ground floor of their homes. On the second or third floor, the Gaddi people cook, eat, and sleep. Since each guest is considered sacred, Gaddis wash a guest’s feet before they enter the home, and they highly value a guest’s blessing.
Gaddis have held tightly to their Hindu and Animistic beliefs, but there are a few believers among them. Gaddis can speak several languages and can read in the Perso-Arabic and Devanagari scripts. However, they have no Bible or JESUS Film in their heart language.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray for Christian “guests” to bless the Gaddis by introducing them to the Good Shepherd. Pray that Christians will soon bring a written scripture to the Gaddi people.-CH
