It is finished! In this scene John describes his vision of the final victory, when some from every people group will praise the Lord Jesus. This scene fulfills God’s promise in Genesis 12:3 that through Abraham and his descendants all other families of the earth would receive the spiritual blessing that came through Jesus Christ. There are many causes and interests to which we can commit our lives. But the vision of Christ’s global cause is one which is sure to succeed.


Dear Lord, how we long for the day when people from every nation, tribe, people, and language will bow before You and acknowledge You as Lord!

Bhutanese of Bhutan

Tucked in the Himalayas between India and China lies a precious jewel, a nation, longed for by God Almighty. Kingdom rule, which is all they’ve ever known, will this year be replaced by a constitutional monarchy. Complete with elections and all the trappings of democratic politics, an elected person will soon hold the future of the Bhutanese people in his hands.

Unlike most countries that gauge their success by financial means in their Gross National Product, Bhutan gauges the success of its government by its Gross National Happiness. How refreshing that the single biggest business of the government is the happiness of its people!

But how can a leader accomplish this while all over Bhutan, people spend endless hours in rituals counting 108 kernels of corn at a time, (a revered number) one for every prostrate bow to honor a Buddhist saint until they have reached 100,000 prostrations?

Pray that the new leaders of Bhutan will be fair to their people. Pray that Christ will give Bhutanese leaders a revelation of Himself and that these new leaders might be among the first of thousands to put their faith in Jesus Christ. Pray that the prayers of the saints will soon break the principalities and powers that bind the people, and that the only prostrated bow will be to the One True God.-PE
