Rev. 1:7
"Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen"

John begins the book of Revelation with a clear vision of Jesus Christ, the One who is coming soon. In this quotation from the prophet Daniel, John emphasizes the impact the return of Jesus Christ will have upon the peoples of the earth. He says they will mourn. Why? Because, suddenly confronted with their rejection of Him, they will become aware that they deserve the judgment to come. Scripture makes it clear, however, that some from every people will rejoice at Christ’s return. These are the ones who belong to Him, who have heard and believed the gospel and who have submitted their lives to His Lordship.

Father, bless us by Your Spirit as we work to increase the number of those who will delight in Jesus’ return.

Kashmiri Muslims

“Investing in the Kashmir Railway is a good place to put your money.” Abdul, a Muslim Kashmiri engineer was trying to convince a businessman to invest. “My company has been involved in the construction of this incredible 560 mile railway since 1994.” The railway is expected to be completed in 2009, in spite of extreme engineering challenges. These include building 20 tunnels and 158 bridges, one of which will be the highest in the world. At last India will be connected from Delhi to Srinagar in Kashmir. The business opportunities will be endless!”

Jammu and Kashmir is the only Muslim-majority state in India. Soon after England granted independence to India in 1947, the new nation was divided into Hindu majority India and Muslim majority Pakistan. England gave certain state rulers the right to choose whether they wanted to be under India or Pakistan. The Kashmiri Hindu ruler decided in favor of India. From that time to the present, there has been an ongoing war between Muslims and Hindus in Kashmir made worse by the neighboring Pakistanis who claim Kashmir as their own. Some of the estimated six million Muslims of Kashmir have put their faith in Christ because they are tired of the violence connected with the militant Muslims.
