1 Jn. 4:4
"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"

Jesus promised that His Church would assault the gates of hell and that those gates would fall. His Church is actively marching forward to conquer rebel territory and bring it into submission to the king of kings. Our battle is not physical-between men, but spiritual-within men’s hearts and minds. And we are assured of victory because our champion, Jesus Christ, has defeated Satan in individual combat. Truly, the One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world.

Lord Jesus, we acknowledge You as the victor over sin and Satan. Establish Your Church in every remaining unreached people.

Kayastha caste of India and Nepal

According to legend, India’s Kayastha caste came into being because Brahma, the Creator, needed someone to keep records of good and evil human behavior. Dharamraj (also called Yamraj, the god of death) complained. “How can I alone keep record of the deeds of the beings born into 840,000 life-forms in the three worlds?” Brahma closed his eyes to ponder this problem. Suddenly, a radiant new spirit appeared “with ink-pot in one hand and a quill pen in another.” He was named Chittagupta, and he was assigned to write and record for Dharamraj. Brahma declared that Chittagupta’s descendants should be called Kayasthas.

Thus was “created” the caste of record-keepers. In the heavens Chittagupta kept track of human deeds. On earth, his descendants, the Kayasthas, kept track of business transactions and other records. Over time, they became bookkeepers and bankers. Today, they excel in many professions, including politics, science, philosophy, film, music, and military strategy.

Most Kayasthas are Hindu. Because Hinduism is such a diverse religion, it is difficult to generalize about their beliefs. Many Hindus believe in a single supreme god, while accepting the existence of many gods.

Pray that the Kayasthas will hear about the God who performed the greatest transaction that ever occurred on the cross at Calvary, canceling out the sins of those who place their trust in Him. Pray that thousands of them will put their hope and trust in Him alone.-JWS
