Heb. 13:15
"Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess His Name"

In the Ozark Mountains there’s a familiar riddle which asks the question, “What makes more noise than a pig stuck under the fence?” The answer, of course, is, “Two pigs stuck under the fence.” Maybe we could use a similar question to ask, “What brings more glory to God than believers who worship and praise His Name?” The answer, “More believers who praise His Name.” God must take special delight as men and women and boys and girls from previously unreached peoples add their voices to the chorus of praise.

Pray for missionaries working today to penetrate new groups. Pray that sacrifices of praise may soon arise from these peoples.

Arora People of India

How times have changed in India! Since India’s independence in 1947, it had seemed impossible for anyone but a Hindu to become prime minister. But three years ago, Dr. Manmohan Singh, a Sikh from the Arora people group, has become India’s prime minister.

In 1947, Prime Minister Singh’s family, along with many others from the Arora people group, fled Pakistan for the safety of India with nothing except the clothes on their backs. They had to flee because Hindus and Sikhs were no longer welcome in Muslim Pakistan. The Singh family had settled in New Delhi and three generations later they lived in a well-to-do neighborhood.

The Aroras are mostly Hindu, with some Sikhs mixed among them. They have a long history in India and have known periods of persecution. Each time Muslim armies invaded India, the Aroras had been forced to flee for their lives. Members of this hardy people group have rebuilt their lives after each such disaster, becoming prosperous again in a few generations.

The Arora peoples are a branch of Hinduism’s Kshatriya caste, and thus from warrior ancestry. Through the centuries, many have moved into commerce, where they have done very well.

Ask God to open the hearts of the Aroras to the message of salvation through Christ. Pray that the Arora people will learn to find security in Jesus Christ and not in money or politics.-WK
