In other words, Jesus is telling us to go and do what He Himself was sent to do. He came into this world as one of us, was baptized and lived among His own. He gave us a pattern of how we are to live among those to whom He sends us, that they may believe and be saved. This Great Commission is to “all the world,” even “to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8), to the unreached peoples who have not yet heard.
Father, send many workers to them so that some from every people group may hear and believe.
Followers of Jesus left their comfort zone and went where the need was great. Now six sustaining seed ministries are flourishing in Afikpo, West Africa. Bountiful Harvest ministries offer these six areas of service: 1) Helping families support themselves. 2) Educating children intellectually and spiritually. 3) Equipping women to influence their communities. 4) Training village nurses to care for health needs. 5) Evangelizing people to faith in Christ. 6) Developing and managing natural resources.
Bountiful Harvest seeks prayer partners who will stand with them in a huge expansion project. The nearby nations of Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, and Benin are predominately Muslim; however, they are open to Christian community development. Followers of Christ can show West African people how to overcome sin and its consequences through the power of the Holy Spirit. As Christians toil side-by-side with indigenous workers to conquer poverty and AIDS, we can pray that Muslim people will see the love of Jesus Christ reaching out to them. Even if we cannot physically go to these needy countries and help, we can touch lives through prayer.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that Christian community development will open doors to spiritual development. Pray that Christians will display godly character and the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Ask God to open Muslim hearts and give them spiritual understanding of the power and character of our Lord Jesus Christ.-AK
