If you want to know what God has done, read the Bible through! Next, reflect upon His creation surrounding you. Then look at history, and see His hand moving upon men and nations to fulfill His purposes. Read books and periodicals to marvel at those new things He is revealing to men from His treasures of wisdom. Finally, search your heart and meditate upon His work in you. You should find within yourself a threefold response to what you have seen and learned-the same threefold response the psalmist gave: gratitude, prayer, and a passion that these things be proclaimed to all. Do not be disobedient to the heavenly vision. Go and make Him known. Join His host of prayer warriors.
Praise Him without ceasing.
The sheep bleated loudly as they searched the barren ground for scarce grass. The Gafsa shepherd wiped the sweat from his brow and led the flock away. Grass was hard to find in the barren deserts of central Tunisia.
The shepherd had other things on his mind as he led the sheep across the desert. His spirit was empty. Islam had only given him rituals, not a living God whose presence he could feel in his heart and soul.
The Gafsa Bedouins had lived in the barren deserts of Tunisia for over a thousand years. They used to be camel herders before the arrival of cars caused the bottom to drop out of the camel market, forcing many Gafsas to switch to sheep herding. This people group is almost totally Muslim. There are only six known believers among the Gafsas. No mission agency is currently trying to reach this nomadic people group.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Ask God to protect the Christians among the Gafsas and embolden them to share Christ’s blessings with their people. Pray that the Lord would lead mission agencies to target the Gafsas for outreach. There is already a complete Bible in their language and the JESUS Film is available in the Gafsa language. Pray that these resources will be spread far and wide in Gafsa communities.-WK
