Ps. 102:18-20
"Let this be written for a future generation.... The Lord looked down...from heaven He viewed the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death"

Throughout the world today, prisons are full of criminals, political dissidents, and those imprisoned for religious convictions. Without Christ we are all prisoners to sin, under the sentence of death. Christ came to bring life to all who call upon His Name. But how can they call on His Name unless they have heard?

Pray today for those who are doubly imprisoned-both physically and spiritually. Pray for those attempting to bring light to these dark places.

Muslim Fezzan Bedouins of Libya

They are wanderers in a dry land, eating dates, not manna from heaven, and they have been traveling for well over 40 years. They are not Moses and the Israelites. These are the Fezzan Bedouins of western Libya who have walked the northern edge of the Sahara Desert for generations. The Fezzan Bedouins have made their home in Fezzan, a desert region in southeastern Libya. These and other nomadic groups cross freely from Libya to Algeria to Niger and back.

Camels are their main form of transportation. They buy and sell sheep and goats. The Fezzans own tents but have few other material possessions. The women, children and supplies are relegated to one side of the tent. The other side has the fireplace and is used for entertaining guests.

Some Fezzan Bedouins have chosen manual labor jobs in an effort to improve the living conditions of their families. Most, however, find it degrading, and avoid this kind of work.

More than 170,000 Fezzan Bedouins are accounted for, but only 33 of these have put their faith in Christ rather than the prophesies of Mohammed. There are no Christian materials in their language.

Pray that their hearts will open and the Fezzan Bedouins will eagerly receive the gospel.-JKW
