Ps. 9:11
"Sing praises to the Lord, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what He has done"

This shout of praise follows the declaration that God reigns forever. “He will govern” all peoples with justice. David continues (verse 15), “The Lord is known by His justice.” The wicked are fallen and the needy remembered! What a day when the glory of God fills all the earth! We shall then see, before God’s throne, an innumerable throng “from every nation, tribe, people, and language” (Revelation 7:9). But today it is not so. Nearly half of earth’s people have never had a valid opportunity to respond to the good news of life in Christ Jesus. Nearly 10,000 nations, tribes, peoples, and languages have not yet been told of Him.

Father, we know Your Word promises that all nations will be represented before Your throne. Give us the courage to do our part in hastening that day!

Global Recordings Network (GRN)‘s Ishmael Project

“The angel of the Lord said to her [Hagar], ‘I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they shall be too many to count. You shall bear a son; and you shall call his name Ishmael’” (Gen. 16:10-11, NIV). Ishmael, meaning, “God hears,” was still special to God. God still loves the Ishmaelites, the Arabs of the Muslim world. They have a special place in God’s loving heart.

It is ironic that the part of the world where Christianity first began is now the area in the greatest need of evangelization. The Ishmael Project is one of Global Recordings Networks’ (GRN) initiatives to sow seeds of Christian truth in Muslim communities, and with nomadic tribes. The Ishmael Project works in partnership with local believers, churches, and mission agencies to cross barriers that keep people away from Christ. Since many of these people are illiterate, the playing of audio recordings of Bible stories in languages of the region is the primary way of witnessing to them. When the message is in Arabic, it can be perceived to be “holy” by Muslim peoples, and Muslim minorities also like the message in their own tongue. Messages are available on hand-wound cassette players. GRN also provides gospel messages on CD and via the Internet for those who have access.

Pray that GRN can establish a Mediterranean center for recording and distribution. Pray that thousands of these recordings will be distributed to Bedouin peoples.-JS
