After the flood, God established a covenant with Noah-an outline of God’s promises and intentions for dealing with him and with the whole human race. This particular covenant included God’s promise to never again destroy the peoples of the earth through a flood. Throughout the Old Testament, God established a number of covenants with His people, calling them to understand and cooperate with His plan and purpose for mankind. For example, in the Abrahamic covenant (Genesis 12:1-3), God stated His purpose to bless all the families of the earth through the seed of Abraham.

“Sindhu! Sindhu!” were the words uttered in amazement and wonder by the Aryans 7,000 years ago when they first stood on the banks of the mighty River Indus. The Sindhis, as they were later called, are descended from an ancient civilization that inhabited the Indus Valley. Originally part of India, today most of their homeland lies in modern day Pakistan. Those in Pakistan are mainly Muslim, and those in India and the rest of the world are Hindus. There are more than 60 million Hindu Sindhis scattered all over the world. They have excelled as farmers, seafarers, traders, merchants, and bankers.
Their adventures have taken them to virtually every continent. With their pursuit of wealth and involvement in new enterprises, many Hindu Sindhis have forgotten their roots and heritage. The Sindhi diaspora is rich in fortunes but poor in identity and culture. Today the Sindhi diaspora is in turmoil, eager to teach their children their native language and values.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
