Gen.1:10b, 31a
"And God saw that it was good.... God saw all that He had made, and it was very good."

The things God created He declared to be good. But it was not until He had created man and woman that He declared His creation to be very good. Tragically, Adam and Eve’s disobedience would later tarnish the created order and bring death to the human race. Yet the God who “worked” until creation was perfect works today to bring salvation to the peoples of the earth. He commissions His Church to herald the gospel, and He honors obedience with transformed lives.

Thank You, Lord, for making such a wonderful creation. We are grieved by the effects of sin, yet we rejoice that Your Spirit will bring wholeness to men and women from every people.

“Serve Nepal”

How do you feel when you hear the word “globalization?” For some of you, this word could make you think of new opportunities. For others, it brings to mind oppression of the poor by the rich.

Many Nepalis may view it in the negative way. Their mountainous Hindu country has been isolated throughout the centuries from all but neighboring India. They share a predominantly unmonitored border with this powerful nation. Thousands flee south for job opportunities or to avoid the ongoing violence. Unfortunately, brothel owners recruit Nepali girls under the ruse that they will have jobs as housemaids.

“Serve Nepal” is a Christian organization striving to meet the needs of these girls. With the help of Nepali police, they intervene when they see girls being transported south. Others help those who have been in the sex trade with education, job training, and counseling so that they can build new lives. (See www.serve-nepal.org).

Serve Nepal’s offering to these needy people is the love of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. Our weapon to strengthen their work is prayer to the Almighty.

Pray for more workers to go, filled with the power and the fruit of the Holy Spirit to save those being led off to slaughter. Pray for God to crush efforts to trap these Nepali girls.-KC
