It is finished! In this scene John describes his vision of the final victory, when some from every people group will praise the Lord Jesus. This scene fulfills God’s promise in Genesis 12:3 that through Abraham and his descendants all other families of the earth would receive the spiritual blessing that came through Jesus Christ. There are many causes and interests to which we can commit our lives. But the vision of Christ’s global cause is one which is sure to succeed.
Dear Lord, how we long for the day when people from every nation, tribe, people, and language will bow before You and acknowledge You as Lord!
Myanmar is under harsh military rule. As a consequence of ethnic strife and government oppression, many Burmese have fled to neighboring India.
Many Burmese settle in India’s northeastern states of Mizoram and Manipur, while others trek from these states to New Delhi seeking relocation to another country. Those that chose to stay in Mizoram grow rice in river valleys using slash and burn agriculture with its devastating ecological consequences. All of this strains India’s resources.
The Burmese in New Delhi can only get residence permits, not work permits. They are often harassed and face discrimination. They complain that the United Nations is slow to help them. Only one Indian non-government organization (NGO) is helping them. Yet few Burmese seek to assimilate in India.
Most Burmese are Buddhists, though they mix this religion with Animism and spirit worship. Less than one percent of the Burmese in India have put their faith in Christ.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that the Burmese in India will have the chance to hear of His glory from Christian believers. Pray that Indian Christians will establish NGOs to assist the Burmese. Pray that Indian missionaries will evangelize them in Mizoram, Manipur and Delhi. Pray that God will use dreams, visions and His Word to draw Burmese Buddhists to Himself.-TP
