Heb. 12:1
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us"

This verse follows the long description of those who by faith conquered and of those who by faith endured. All were faithful witnesses in their day, and all watch to see if we also will be faithful witnesses. About 10,000 people groups without a church still wait for us to take the Great Commission to them. Yet how easy to become encumbered with cares and pleasures and riches-things which can slow our race to a crawl.

Dear Lord, teach us to “throw off” the hindrances. We want to run!

-Arakanese People of Bangladesh

“Grandfather, why do those elders from other tribes call us ‘Magh’?” Grandfather slowly replied, “My Great-grandfather told me many stories of how we were feared pirates along the seacoast and up the river valleys. Magh means ‘pirates.’ Some of the old ones of the other tribes remember this. Our proper name is Arakanese because we are from the Arakan valley of Burma.”

“But Grandfather, now we are peaceful, right? We just work together on the hills making the village gardens. Buddha and the spirits of the rice fields must be happy with us.” “Shhhh! Aja, go take food and drink to the edge of the field or we will not have anything to eat this year. Now go!” Eyes wide with fear, the boy ran out of the house.

Pray for the 360,000 Arakanese people in Bangladesh, that God would remove the veil from their eyes and prepare their hearts for the gospel. Ask God to take authority over the spiritual principalities that have bound them and ask the Lord to send forth laborers to work among the Arakanese. Ask the Lord for many of this group to be seated at the table when we attend the marriage supper of the Lamb through His mercy and the intervention of the Holy Spirit.-PE
