Reflect for a minute how much you have to be thankful for. Christ Himself entered on our behalf. He is the one who paid for all of our sins, past, present, and future. God’s promise is certain, He cannot lie, because He is holy and righteous. We can walk in this assurance daily. There are many who attempt in vain to achieve these things through their own righteousness. Be thankful! But don’t forget those for whom you prayed this month who still don’t know these things.
Pray that the nations will crave fellowship with the only One who can pay for their sins.
Hideo looked left and right as he stood at the busy intersection in downtown Fukuoka, watching cars zip past him, and wondering when it would be safe to cross the street. He was from Okinawa and had never seen so much traffic before. How would he ever find the university where he would soon be taking classes? Hideo felt alone. He knew no one in Fukuoka.
Fukuoka is a city of over 1,000,000 people located on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu. In recent years the Kunigami people group, from the Ryukyu Islands, has started migrating into that city. Okinawa is the largest of the Ryukyu Islands. The Kunigamis speak a variety of languages, all of them similar to Japanese. There are only 100 Christians among the Kunigami in the Ryukyu Islands and none in Fukuoka.
There is an open door for hospitality ministries to reach out to the Kunigami people in Fukuoka.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Ask God to raise up the right people to begin such a ministry for these lonely people. May the Lord instill the Kunigami Christians of the Ryukyu Islands with a vision for reaching out to their countrymen living on the Japanese home islands. Ask God to open the spiritual eyes of the Kunigami people so that they can see their savior, Jesus Christ. Pray for a people movement to Christ.-WK
