One day all creatures will bow to acknowledge the universal Lordship of Jesus Christ. Scripture teaches that there are two kinds of people who bow to acknowledge Him: those who do so now, in loving submission to His rule in their lives; and those who will do so at Christ’s coming, in fearful and obligatory submission.
Lord Jesus, we will proclaim the gospel of Your Kingdom during this acceptable day of salvation. Lead us to do our part in leading others to bow their knees to you as well.
Boom! Once again, a roadside bomb went off in southern Thailand, killing, maiming people, and destroying property.
The bomb was set by a member of the Pattani Malay, a people who live in southern Thailand near the Malay border. Originally, they were welcomed by the King of Thailand to check the spread north of Islam into his Buddhist kingdom. The king’s efforts backfired. The Joshua Project web site reports, “The history of the Pattani Malay has been punctuated by revolt and revolution. Over the years, their unique Muslim culture has led to many separatist movements against the Thai government.”
One of the reasons for the constant revolt is economic. Their region is rich in resources, but the 3,320,000 Pattani Malay people live on the edge of survival. If anyone is benefiting from the resources, it is someone else.
Secondly, they are devout Muslims living under the rule of Buddhists. Since Islam is a political as well as a religious system, they resent being under the rule of “infidels.” Only a work of the Holy Spirit can change their dismal situation.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray against the spirit of violence, intimidation and fear, and that spiritual strongholds will be broken down. Pray that the Holy Spirit will do an amazing work among the Pattani Malay people.-KC
