Romans 9:3
"For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, the people of Israel."

Wait a minute! Isn’t this the same writer who only a few chapters ago assured us of the death that awaits those cut off from Christ? Yes, it is. His love for his own people even led him to wish to suffer their punishment for rejecting Christ. Note, however, that even though Paul loved his fellow Jews that much, he spent his life ministering among the Gentiles!

Father, give us more men and women who-in spite of their love for the Church and all of the needs here at home-will bring the good news to the unreached peoples.

Sunni Muslim Saudi Arabs in the United States

“Mohammad, why do you look so sad? In just a few days we will be through our exams and you will be flying home to Saudi Arabia to celebrate your Islamic Eid holiday with your family.” Mohammed shook his head and replied, “Things have changed, Rick. All of us students from Saudi Arabia received a letter explaining that it will be much more difficult to renew our visas if we leave the U.S. I will not be able to leave now until I graduate. Ever since 9-11, Americans have been suspicious.” Rick replied, “Come home with me for the holidays.” Mohammad looked up with a smile and responded, “Thanks! That would be great. I really love your family.”

At the present time, far less than one percent of the Gulf Arabs of Saudi Arabia have accepted Jesus as their Savior. A profession of faith in Jesus may cost a person his family, his honor, his job, or even his life. Evangelization is forbidden in Saudi Arabia. But there are Saudi Arab students on American campuses, and Christians can reach them there.
