The wonderful news is that He has made provision to reconcile us to Himself through the blood of Christ. He knew that we were weak sinners, even enemies. How great is our reconciliation! In this we rejoice! And God yearns that people everywhere be reconciled to Himself (cf. 1 Timothy 2:4). Because we are His body on earth, He has given us the message and the ministry of reconciliation (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19). Will we rejoice as we take this message to a lost and dying world?
Jesus, thank You again that You have reconciled us to God. Thrill us with the ministry of reconciliation that is ours.
“We’re free!” thought the four women and two men who stepped off the plane at Los Angeles International Airport. They were the first political refugees from North Korea to arrive in the United States. South Korean-American Christians met this group, according to a May, 2006 article in the “Los Angeles Times.”
Every day a lack of food sends many North Koreans into neighboring China looking for their next meal. North Korean women frequently get lured or kidnapped into marrying Chinese men, who often abuse their new wives. North Korean men and women discovered living in China are often sent back to North Korea, to be tortured in prison. One of the six refugees described how his fingers had been broken with a wrench during a prison interrogation. Only a fortunate few make contact with smugglers who can get them out of North Korea and China, to new homes in South Korea and America. The few who have made it to the U.S. have a rare opportunity to thrive physically and spiritually, with the help of new Christian friends.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray for the Korean American Christians helping to resettle North Korean refugees in the United States. May their acts of love open the door for these North Koreans to experience and embrace the Kingdom of God. Ask God to raise up North Korean believers in America who will one day go back to their homeland to share the message of salvation.-WK
