The prophecy that the Lord spoke through Ananias back in Acts 9:15 had come true! Paul had borne the Lord’s Name before the Jews and the Gentiles, and now he stood before a king. In his testimony before King Agrippa, Paul very simply stated God’s call to him and his obedience to that call. But what reason did Paul give Agrippa for the Jews’ persecution of him? Simply the fact that he proclaimed the good news to the Gentiles as well as to the Jews! (v. 21). As we saw yesterday, they were more angry at Paul’s insistence on going to the Gentiles than at anything else. We can be thankful that God is faithful to His promises and to His call on the lives of men and women.
Pray that you may be as faithful in your obedience of the Great Commission as Paul was.
“We here in the city of Kfar Saba, Israel are happy to be affiliated with the Venezuelan Jewish community!” Kfar’s mayor was talking with President Presser of the Confederation of Jewish Associations of Venezuela. Presser replied, “The situation is very serious in Venezuela, and we fear for the 15,000 Jews living there. Venezuelan President Chavez has falsely accused them of taking money and jobs from the Venezuelan people. He is in full support of Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas, all of which are violently opposed to Israel. He was the first head of state to condemn Israel’s ‘attack on Lebanon.’ I and the other 16 delegates with me are appreciative for the warm welcome we have received. We are told that over 2,000 Venezuelan Jews are living in this city now. Many more of our people are preparing to leave and plan to settle here in Kfar Saba. They will be encouraged by your welcome.”Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that Venezuelan Jews, most of whom are Orthodox, will turn to Jesus for their strength during these potentially dangerous times. Pray that more Christian believers both in Israel and Venezuela, will become friends with them and that Messianic believers will give them the message of their Messiah.-PD
