Ps. 49:1, 7, 8
"Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all who live in this world...no man can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for him-the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough"

Our hearts respond to this, “Only God can pay it! And He did !” We who know God in Jesus Christ rejoice that Jesus paid the ransom for our lives. Yet we must always remember that millions of other men and women have yet to enjoy such redemption or even the knowledge of how God has paid the price for their sin. The ransom for a single life is precious beyond measure. Jesus has made a way to God for all who believe and receive!

Pray that more laborers will go, saying, “Hear this! Listen, all you peoples!”

Chinese People in Angola

Today, following a civil war, Angola’s railway system is being refurbished with surprising visual changes by expert Chinese workers and engineers. The rich reserves of raw materials in Angola in southwestern Africa, is a magnet drawing Chinese engineers to invest time and money in exchange for these rich resources, especially oil, needed for China’s booming economy. In 2004, China’s Eximbank approved a three billion dollar credit to finance this project and two other rail lines, government buildings, and a new hyper-modern international airport in Luanda, Angola’s capital city. They hope to complete a railway system overhaul by August, 2007 after which the system in Angola is expected to be capable of moving 30,000,000 tons of goods and 4,000,000 people every year.

Buddhism attracts about 40 per cent of the total Chinese population of Angola. Most of the others are secular. Unlike most parts of the world, these Han Chinese do not have a Christian witness in their own culture.
