Josh. 24:15
"Then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve"

Choice is a great privilege-and a fearful responsibility. The greatest choice any individual or group will ever make is which god it will serve. In days in which “personal freedom” is exalted over all virtues, the call to serve another sounds like foolishness. Yet even when carnal men think themselves most free, they find themselves in bondage to lust, greed or material possessions. Scripture reminds us that God has created people for Himself, to love and serve Him. If we reject God and worship someone or something else, bondage results. When we serve God wholeheartedly, we experience freedom. In the words of a hymn, “Make me a captive, Lord, and then I shall be free. Force me to render up my sword and I shall conqueror be.”

Lord, give us hearts that are willing to make choices that honor You.

God’s Story (GS) Project

Most Christians have heard of the JESUS Film and its success in introducing non-believers to Jesus. Now another audio/visual tool is reaping the same results. It is God’s Story (GS), and is proving to be another powerful tool for both discipleship and evangelism. GS is an 80-minute video showing artistic renditions with a narration that tells God’s story from creation to eternity. The artist, Norm McGary, had once been a lead illustrator for Disney and Hanna Barbera, Inc. After finding the Lord, he turned his talents over to Christian projects. Film-maker, Pat Matrisciana felt that McGary’s paintings could be added to and expanded into a full-length film, and Dorothy Miller, a writer with 25 years experience in chronological Bible teaching, led the team in producing the video.

The video is extremely useful with people who cannot read and/or have no Bible in their language. It is available in over 130 languages and that number is growing. Quotes about the project include the following:

“It will play well in any culture and will really get Christ’s message of hope to the viewers.” And, “Even in the most primitive areas of the world, people have video.”

Pray for those involved in God’s Story Project that they can complete the translation of languages and dialects needed to blanket the world. Pray that this chronological story of God’s love will be clear to viewers around the world.-JS
