1 Jn. 4:4
"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."

Jesus promised that His church would assault the gates of hell and that those gates would fall. His church is actively marching forward to conquer rebel territory and bring it into submission to the king of kings. Our battle is not physical-between men, but spiritual-within men’s hearts and minds. And we are assured of victory because our champion-Jesus Christ-has defeated Satan in individual combat. Truly, the One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world.

Lord Jesus, we acknowledge You as the victor over sin and Satan. Establish Your church in every remaining unreached people.

Puman (Poo-man) People of China

When and where were thought seeds planted in the minds of from 3,000 to 12,000 Puman people who live in southern Yunnan Province!

Her eyes bright and wide with expectation, a Puman woman skillfully picks her way from her home down the forested mountain path. Today is an important day. She hurries toward the statue of Buddha where a village leader will cast lots to determine where she should farm in the coming year.

Although their homes are far from any waterway, the Puman people have decorated their bright headscarves with shell or fish-shaped pieces of silver. No one knows when or how this custom began.

Nor does anyone know the source or time when their hope for a Theravada Buddhist, Jesus-like messiah will be fulfilled. Tradition promised that this savior would come from the south, and he could be recognized by his pierced hands, his long beard, and his white face. Christianity was introduced to this part of the world from Thailand, to their south, but the Puman people look for a Jesus-like Buddhist savior!

Though the Puman people did not accept God’s truth when missionaries came in the 1930s, it is not too late for them to hear and believe.

Pray that some of God’s gospel messengers will fulfill these remote people’s hopes soon. Pray that they will accept missionaries as prophets of Christ, and recognize Jesus as their only lord and savior. Pray that they will give up all to follow Him.-MC
