After the gospel has been preached in a people group, and many have responded in faith, a new church is born. We may be tempted to heave a sigh of relief, rejoice in the new evidence of God’s power, and turn our attention elsewhere. But we must remember that some of Satan’s strongest attacks will be directed against this fledgling body of believers. Pray for the brand-new churches being formed even this month.
Pray for God’s protection for new believers, and especially for national church leaders who are special targets of the onslaught of the enemy.

The Muslim student at the Islamic university in Makassar in Sulawesi Island, was trying to encourage a demonstration against Christians on the campus. A security guard quickly stopped the demonstration.
The population of the Makassar people is almost 2,250,000. The majority live on the southwestern peninsula of Sulawesi, Indonesia. Islam combined with traditional beliefs in gods and ancestral spirits is the religion of almost all Makassar people. Significant work through several agencies has reached the hearts of almost 800 of these people with the gospel. Political tensions from the Islamic government are causing more problems for these believers and preventing the growth of the Church.Learn more at joshuaproject.net
Pray that followers of Christ will maintain their faith and be righteous examples as witnesses to the Makassarese Muslims. May such examples help to reach hardened hearts of the Makassars for the glory of the Kingdom of God. Pray for protection of Christian outreach among the Makassar people.-PD
