I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere Him.

Though the Memon peoples understand that God controls eternity, they also hope to see better days ahead. They abandoned the fatalistic thinking of many of their neighbors and helped to bring about greater freedom and prosperity both in their native India and also in their adopted Tanzania. It is all too easy for such capable people to forget that they have a purpose that goes far beyond satisfying their needs.
